The headlight surround attaches to an internal metal frame. Or at least it would if the plastic tabs weren't broken.
Two of the four mounting tabs are broken on the headlight surround. I plan to fibre glass them back on.
This is where the mounts need to go.
These are the parts that need reattaching.
I first sanded, then scratched a cross hatch into the surface using a scribe.
Cheap fibreglass repair kit from the local motor factors.
Need to cut a couple of small strips of fibreglass to hold the broken pieces back together.
I've attached the metal bracket to keep the mounts in the right place. Once it's set (I'll probably leave it overnight) I'll add a couple more layers to make it nice and strong.
For extra strength, I filled the voids in the mounts with resin. The tape was to stop a leak whilst it was curing.
