[Honda XR125L] Spark plug tool (cheap tool modification)

When I bought the bike it had been though many hands before I was the owner. So my bike didn't come with the toolkit. I had pieced together most parts, but no spark plug tool. Time to fix that.

I bought this universal spark plug tool off eBay for cheap (~£5).

It would get you out of a bind, but only one end fits the bike and I don't want to risk scratching up my plastics and new (replica) decals that I've just fitted. I've got no problem that happening on the trail, but would prefer it not to happen due to using the wrong tool for the job. But I can make it the right tool. :)

The tool is much longer than it needs to be so it can fit two different sized spark plugs. I'm sure I can cut it down and just keep the end I need.

I couldn't find my hacksaw, so I used an angle grinder. I also drilled a new hole for the handle, making sure to put it above the area the spark plug would occupy, but also well away from the edge so there's no chance of tear-out.

I cleaned up my apprentice marks with a file and called it good.

It now fits the bike without the likelihood of scratching up the tank shroud.

Fits well.

Works like a charm. May ditch the handle in favour of a reservable screwdriver.
